Renae DeLucia, PhD (she/her)
I'm a licensed counseling psychologist. I work with LGBTQIA+ adults, online, and I have spent my career in the rooms where queer people go for care.
Background
I completed my undergraduate degree at Marquette University and my PhD at the University of Houston. My doctoral research focused on how affirming and discriminatory experiences impact queer people's mental health. I have trained and worked in outpatient settings including VA Medical Centers, a university counseling center, and Houston's LGBTQ+ community hub, the Montrose Center.
Licensure
I am licensed in Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas, and New York, and I see clients in those states over secure video.
My approach
Connection first, then the work.
My work is informed by my devotion to social justice and hope for a better world. My clinical approach is relational and feminist, which means authentic connection and collaboration come first. In sessions I draw on self-compassion, mindfulness, and values exploration. I also help you see how societal forces shape your experience, so you can reclaim agency for yourself and your communities.
I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ adults and creating a safe, affirming space for every client. Together we explore your story and work toward the goals you set.
